The City of Paducah Finance Department is inviting local business owners and entrepreneurs to attend an informational workshop designed to help businesses navigate the City’s business license renewal process with clarity and confidence. No registration is required, and the workshop is open to the public.
The workshop, titled “Renewal by the Book: A Guide to Business License Renewals,” will be held Monday, March 23 from 2 until 3:30 p.m. in the large meeting room on the second floor of the McCracken County Public Library, 555 Washington Street. City of Paducah Finance Department Revenue Auditors Erica Gipson and Gina Winfield will lead the workshop.
The Paducah Board of Commissioners has included Revenue Equity as a priority in its strategic plan since 2023.
“The City Commission is committed to tax revenue equity for Paducah's business owners,” said Mayor George Bray. “Revenue equity means everyone is playing by the same rules. Every qualified business pays its required business license tax, no more and no less. This ensures that responsible businesses aren’t carrying the load for those who are not in compliance.”
This workshop is designed for small business owners, self-employed individuals, new entrepreneurs, and anyone responsible for managing business license renewals. This session will provide a step-by-step overview of the renewal process, highlight common mistakes to avoid, and offer practical tips to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
“I highly encourage local businesses to attend this informational workshop,” added Mayor Bray. “The City of Paducah Finance Department wants to make this process as easy to understand as possible. We will support businesses in setting up accounts and streamlining the renewal process or support new businesses in filing for the first time."
Attendees will receive informational handouts to use as reference materials. A question-and-answer session will be held at the end of the workshop, giving participants the opportunity to ask specific questions and receive guidance directly from the presenters.
