The Paducah Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Halloween-themed dog celebration with vendors from local animal shelters and businesses and a costume contest on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Noble Park Dog Parks. Dogs must be leashed when outside of the dog park enclosures.

The Dog Costume Contest registration will be open from 10 a.m. until 11:50 p.m. with the costume contest beginning at 12 pm. Pet owners will have the opportunity to meet with veterinarians and animal health experts along with pet picture opportunities and educational resources.

The Wooftober Doggie Costume Contest has five entry categories:

• Clowning Around | Funniest costume
• Large Dog Paws-itively Pup-tastic | Best overall costume
• Small Dog Paws-itively Pup-tastic | Best overall costume 
• Best Pack Effort | More than two dogs all in costume
• Spookiest/Scariest | Embracing the Halloween spirit with ghosts, witches, or scary-themed outfits
• Puppy Star | Best puppy costume
• Senior Star | Best senior dog costume
• Best in Show | Best owner and dog costume combo
